Cones for oxygen

SDK – oxygenation equipment for aquaculture

Cones for oxygen

Cones for oxygen by SDK are designed for introducing pure oxygen into water under pressure. They are installed in pipeline systems where water flow is forced by pumps, and the purpose of the device is to increase the level of dissolved oxygen in water.

Proper oxygenation is essential in intensive fish farming, hatcheries, rearing systems and installations where fish density is high and oxygen demand changes depending on temperature, feeding and biological activity. An oxygen cone allows pure oxygen to be introduced directly into the water stream and helps achieve more stable operating conditions than simple surface aeration.

Cones for oxygen for stable water oxygenation

A cone for oxygen works as part of a water installation. Water flows through the device under pressure, while oxygen is supplied into the cone. Properly selected flow, pressure and cone geometry extend the contact time between gas and water, supporting effective oxygen dissolution.

This solution is especially useful where the dissolved oxygen level must be increased quickly and in a controlled way. SDK oxygen cones can be used in central installations or as part of a specific technological circuit, depending on the layout of the fish farm, water flow and oxygen demand.

Main advantages of SDK oxygen cones

  • introduction of pure oxygen into water under pressure,
  • operation in pipeline systems with forced water flow,
  • models selected for different water flow capacities,
  • use in fish farms, hatcheries and intensive aquaculture systems,
  • possibility of operation with the SDK WALC automatic water level control system,
  • designed for installations requiring stable oxygenation.

SDK cones for oxygen models

We manufacture cones for oxygen in several sizes, which makes it possible to select the device according to the required water flow and installation parameters. Available models include SDK CONE 30, SDK CONE 60, SDK CONE 115 and SDK CONE 140.

6.2.0.1 SDK WALC – automatic water level control system

SDK WALC system for oxygen cone protection

The SDK WALC automatic water level control system can be used in SDK CONE 30, CONE 60, CONE 115 and CONE 140 oxygen cones. The system automatically controls oxygen supply to the cone independently of the water outlet from the device.

The purpose of the SDK WALC system is to protect the oxygen cone against uncontrolled pressure increase, which could lead to permanent damage to the device. This is particularly important in installations operating for long periods and in systems where water flow and oxygen demand may vary.

Selecting a cone for oxygen for your installation

Selecting the correct cone for oxygen should take into account water flow, required oxygen level, working pressure, pump arrangement and the operating conditions of the facility. Different parameters are important in a hatchery, in a rearing system and in an installation designed to stabilise water parameters at high fish density.

Cones for oxygen can work together with other installation equipment, such as hoses for aquaculture, oxygen installation components and water circulation equipment. In larger fish farming systems, it is also worth considering biological filters and aerators, which may operate as separate elements of a water quality improvement system.

Additional equipment for aeration and oxygenation systems, such as diffusers and oxygen equipment, can also be selected from the Aquapoltech offer.
